Carla Brodley is the Dean of the Khoury
Co l l e g e o f Comp u t e r Sc i e n c e s a t
Northeastern University. Prior to joining
Northeastern, she was a professor of the
Department of Computer Science and the
Clinical and Translational Science Institute at Tufts University from 2004 to 2014.
Prior to that, she was on the faculty of the School of Electrical Engineering at Purdue University from 1994 to 2004.

Dean Brodley is a Fellow of the ACM and
the Association for the Advancement of
Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). She also
holds numerous leadership positions in
computer science, machine learning, and data mining including serving as program co-chair of ICML, co-chair of AAAI, and
serving as associate editor of the Journal of
AI Research, and the Journal of Machine
Learning Research.

She has previously served on the Defense
Science Study Group, the board of the
International Machine Learning Society, the
AAAI Council, the executive committee of
the Northeast Big Data Hub, and DARPA’s
Information Science and Technology (ISAT) Board.

She currently serves on the CRA Board of
Directors, as a member-at-large of the
section on Information, Computing, and
Communication of AAAS, and as a member of the advisory committee for the NSF’s Directorate of Computer and Information Science and Engineering.
