Frédérique Vidal is the Minister for Research and Higher Education for the Government of France. She was formerly the President of the Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis (UNS), which is where she received a master ’s degree in biochemistry.
Additionally, she received a D.E.A from the
Institut Pasteur. She received her doctorate
degree from the the Université de Nice
Sophia-Antipolis, where she worked as a
lecturer in 1995.
Since 2004, Frédérique Vidal worked at UNS as a professor of biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology. Thereafter, she worked at UNS as a Deputy Director of the Department of Life Sciences from 2007 to 2009. Frédérique Vidal was an external member of Inserm's Regional Scientific Council from 1999 to 2003. She has been a member of the jury of the Master of Virology at UPMC-Paris Diderot-Institut Pasteur since 2004. She was co-head of the European project Tempus from 2006 to 2009.
Frédérique Vidal has been a Chevalier of the
Legion of Honor since 2013.
